Sculptured Gold & Sterling Jewelry
is now in its fourth year of business.
We present only original pieces of hand sculpted jewelry.
Each is designed and fashioned from either 14/20 rolled gold (14 K/20%)
or sterling silver wire, which surrounds a vast variety of focal points.
Included within that variety
are precious and semi-precious gems of faceted stones, cabochons and crystals.
Also, there are pearls of different origins plus cameos,
many of which are hand carved in Italy from the conch and other shell varieties.
We also offer a number of lovely carved German agate cameos.
The wire is sculpted into jewelry settings
using only hands and a few simple hand tools.
The wire itself is available in many different shapes and gauges with different levels of hardness
from dead soft to spring hard.
Even though the wire is annealed (heated) and very soft when beginning to sculpt,
it becomes 'work hardened' and when completed
is a sturdy piece of fine jewelry.
Because our jewelry comes with a 100% guarantee,
sturdy construction is important.
As there is no solder used in the ancient art of filigree,
vulnerable points that may be subjected to undue stress are wrapped
with a hardened half round wire.
